Administration
Program-
The Administration
Program, developed for the U.S. Army, is a Windows based, menu driven, program
for the input of Personnel information, Unit Level information, and the
production of numerous reports through the use of Microsoft Access®.
By making use of Access’s networking capabilities, to distribute, and
share the data and tasks among various offices, accuracy of the information is
improved and duplication of efforts is all but eliminated. Ex:
The Training Officer, NBC Room Officer and Arms Room Officer never have to enter
Personnel as the data already exists.

Features & Layout-
The program is
designed with one Backend database that contains all of the data for a Company
and several Frontend databases that contain the Forms for data input and Reports
for data output. Using this type of structure allows for updates to the
program while protecting the stored data.
The frontend
database modules in the Administration Program are as follows…
Ø
Admin
– The Admin frontend database, Admin.mdb,
is designed to be used by the Company’s Admin Officer and contains
forms for setting up the database, maintaining Personnel information, and over
40 built in reports.

Training
– Designed for use by the Company’s Training Officer, the Training.mdb
frontend database file contains Forms and Reports that deal mostly with

The Data
– The data resides in the CoData.mdb file
that is password protected and encrypted.
It is placed in a Shared folder on a workstation computer that is
accessible over the network by various offices.
Combined
the Administration Program is capable of producing over 75 different reports,
most of which have multiple reporting options on how data is filtered, sorted or
grouped.

S1 Battalion Level Frontend-
The S1 Battalion Level
frontend is a separate module that is capable of accessing all of the individual
units data and generating over 22 different combined reports. Most of
which have multiple reporting options on how the data is grouped, filtered or
sorted.
The
S1 frontend database links to all of the Company level backend database(s),
gathers information by taking a snapshot of that data and combines the results
for reporting purposes.
A snapshot of the data is taken instead of being connected continuously
to speed up the compilation of the data and building of various reports.
Information
on all personnel with the battalion is available as well as their Awards,
Departure Info and Absence; Leave; and Non-Available history.
Reports
the S1 frontend is capable of producing is as follows...
